Well, the difference is clear, some people say that when we have that ugly picture,  we later share it as a throw back. But of course there are exceptions.  I think she looks good in both of them.

But...  Come to think of it (ooh...  Me and my mouth)  how come when most celebrities share throw back pictures( or before and after pictures), the 'new look' is always a whiter version of their former selves, (just saying).
